Felix Schlesinger (1833 - 1910)
Felix Schlesinger was born in Hamburg on October 9, 1833. Studying in the academic traditions of the period, he entered the Düsseldorf Academy and trained with genre and landscape artist Rudolf Jordan (1810 – 1887). Like many artists of the period, Schlesinger specialized in sentimental genre scenes featuring children at play in landscapes and interiors; and became most noted for his views of young subjects playing with rabbits. The artist was very popular during his lifetime and exhibited works throughout Europe and in the United States.
